Semafone are seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to join their Application Development & Quality Assurance team. 

Our Semafone Development and Quality Assurance team sits at the centre of our service-oriented platform and is comprised of Java backend developers, Frontend developers, Dev-Ops Engineers and Quality Assurance and Telephony Engineers.

The Java Developer will assist with the Java technical function within Semafone and will improve the velocity of the team by committing to, and delivering, the work allocated.

There are a number of exciting new product enhancements in the pipeline for this team to work and deliver– these include greenfield development of a whole new product direction as well as adding new functionality to the existing product with the potential opportunity to re-design and re-write components.

 Whilst these are ongoing, the team will also maintain and modernise our existing platform with a strong focus on refactoring and dealing with BAU support issues. We are looking for people who are passionate to learn PCI compliance and secure development life cycle. We have very exciting projects upcoming, so are looking for people to come and join Semafone on this exciting journey.

The successful candidate will need to have 3+ years' experience in a similar product focussed environment, and an expert understanding of Java 8+ and Spring (Core, JMS, AOP Security and Server-side frameworks). In addition, they will need a working knowledge on integration with AWS and Linux platforms. 

It is essential that the Java Developer has a working knowledge of ActiveMQ, Maven, Git, Linux, Tomcat; memory-grids or equivalent and the ability to clearly communicate ideas to other stakeholders of varying backgrounds. While it is desirable for the successful candidate to have Financial institutions integration knowledge, it is not crucial.
